The Board of Directors of Bellevue Group has appointed André Rüegg, who has managed the Group on an interim basis since April 2015, as the Group’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 1, 2016. He will continue to serve as head of Bellevue Asset Management, which he has successfully developed as CEO since 2012.
“André Rüegg is ideally positioned for the role as CEO of Bellevue Group. With André at the helm, we will efficiently move forward with our planned growth and diversification strategy. Having spent more than six years at Bellevue Asset Management, he knows the strengths of our business model very well.
Given his profound knowledge of the investment industry and proven management skills, André Rüegg will lead the Group and its individual business units with foresight and discipline. His dual role as Group CEO and CEO Asset Management allows greater use of synergies,” comments Dr. Thomas von Planta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bellevue Group.
André Rüegg studied economics at the University of Zurich and Columbia, New York, USA. He has extensive experience in international asset management. After working in the consulting industry, André Rüegg held various management positions at renowned asset management firms. He joined Bellevue Asset Management as Deputy CEO and Head Sales & Marketing in 2009 and has been its CEO since 2012.
